Which Open Loyalty features does Steve use?
Two: transactions and custom events. A verified receipt posts as a transaction with line items, so your earning rules award points. Any other verified evidence, such as a store visit or a compliance check, posts as a custom event with fields mapped from the extracted data. Steve matches the member by the customer email attached to the submission.
Do we need to change our earning rules?
No. A verified receipt lands as a normal transaction with line items. Rules you already run, such as points per unit or bonus for a product, apply as they do to any other purchase.
What if a member is not found?
The transaction or custom event still lands in Open Loyalty. It is simply not matched to a member, so no points are awarded until it is. Steve records the delivery with that outcome, so your team can see unmatched submissions and resolve them.
Can we use Steve without Open Loyalty?
Yes. The same workflows deliver results through the API and webhooks to any system. The Open Loyalty integration is a shortcut, not a requirement.
